Now, before you get all excited...we set it up in the great room (gotta LOVE high ceilings and floor space!) This was done partly because we were not sure how Alex would take to sleeping outdoors, especially since the last two "sleep overs" have resulted in her wanting to go back to her own room to sleep. And as many of you know...I am not a huge camper. Though we do want to start doing more camping in the coming years, we just thought we would start slow.
All in all, she had a GREAT time! She loved being in the tent, so much in fact that when it came time to go to sleep, she danced around and around until we finally made her get into bed. Then she fell asleep in about 2.4 seconds! And she was so excited to wake up and find that Boo had joined us in the night. Daddy was not as thrilled with Boo's sleeping arrangement as it included happy paws on his chest!
So how does Alex know it is time to get up? Well the sun must be up for one thing. We have had a few 4am "Can I be awake now? Is it wake up time yet?" Um, no. The sun is still sleeping and so you need to be sleeping.
Today it was 8am and she says "Mommy wake up! The sun is open!" And so the day began. But it is a great way to wake up, with a smiling, happy, loving little girl between us.
She has taken a real interest in coloring/drawing pictures lately.
