Vail Colorado

Yesterday we headed up into the mountains to spend the day with the Penrose/Miller clan in Vail.  It was a beautiful drive and Alex was very excited to get there and see her cousins (though I don't know if she really knew what that meant until we got there!).    There was so much to see and do...but hopefully you will get an idea of how much fun was had by all!

We were met right by the parking garage, where after a few minutes to warm up, Alex got right in there with the boys climbing up the rocks.

Then we headed up the mountain...

Alex and Luke were less interested in lunch and preferred to just run around.

Jackson, Meg's oldest, was amazing with Alex!  And I think she would have followed him just about anywhere :)

The trampoline...which Alex JUST made the min weight limit to try out.

So, she will either love this or hate it....

It was total love!  I think she will be slightly disappointed when we get to the gym next time.

 No fear in this child!

Alex had fun with Jackson trying out the tight rope.

Of course, we also had to take a ride on the pony!

And we got a couple shots of the 3 of us all together!

Digging for dino bones..

Alex and Jackson....

Three out of the four all together...not bad!
And then all four!  Quick-get the picture before someone moves, looks away, puts a finger someplace we don't really want to get on film...

Meg, Kate, Tina, Cody, Jackson, and Luke (well, 6 of 7 all ready for a picture is not bad!)

And another one of our little family.  Had to wrangle Alex away from her cousins though...and shoot the picture quick!
What a beautiful view!  We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful state.

Cousins!  Meg, Steve, and Kate

Cody takes Alex up the steps to explore...and find the biggest dandelions!

One more...3 out of 4 of the kiddos!

Then it was time for an ice cream break!

Luke is very serious about his ice cream..and with chocolate, who can blame him!

Look at our monkey!!!

Off to the pirate playground!  Meg said that this playground, in some version, has been a part of their Vail memories since she and Kate were young.

Alex was "fishing" in this little stream near where we had dinner...Jackson even made her a fishing pole with a stick and a string!
 Pizza is ready!
And one more stop at the stream before heading to the car...
Throwing rocks seems to be a universal must with it comes to a stream.
And of course, not matter how cold the water is, we must get in it!
A little cold, a little wet, a lot tired, but what a fun day!!!
One more picture for the road....

A huge thanks to Meg, Kate, Tina, Jackson, Cody, and Luke for a wonderful day!!!
