It's Not a Puppy...

but Alex is going to be a big sister!  Yep, that is right, Colby Baby #2 should arrive sometime in early July 2012.  You knew we couldn't miss the big birthday crowd in May/June/July completely in this family!

We took her to the 12 week ultrasound this week and she was curious to see the baby.  When asked if if she is going to have a baby sister or a baby brother, she quite definitively says "a baby sister".  We are trying to prepare her that it may be a baby brother, but she just says "nope, a baby sister".  We shall see!

Alex seems excited about the idea of being a big sister, even if she is not quite sure how the baby got into mommy's tummy.  We have been talking to her about how when she is 3 mommy and daddy won't carry her as much, because she is getting so big.  This past weekend, upon her request to be picked up, she and I had the following conversation:

Alex:  Pick me up please.

Mommy: Why?

Alex: Because you like to!

Mommy:  I carried you for 9 months in my tummy.

Alex:  Why mommy?  Did you eat me?

Guess we may have to talk a little bit about how babies get into mommy's tummy!

But we are all healthy, excited, and growing.  And getting ready to welcome our new little one this summer!
