December 17 2008

Well day one went well and we are almost through day 2. She was more awake today and we are learning more about what her different sounds mean and what soothing techniques seem to work with her. Music (one of us singing) seems to work really well for her most of the time!

Grandma Colby, Grandpa Colby, Aunt Laura, Uncle Joe, Evie and friends Evelyn and Chad have all visited here in the hospital and seems to enjoy meeting new people, at least for a bit!

We are looking forward to going home tomorrow (before the snow hits!) and getting settled in at home and meeting the kitties. Uncle Rick and Aunt Jennifer are coming this weekend to meet her (and celebrate the holidays a bit early) so that will be fun as well. We can't wait for Grandma Gille to come up in early January. And of course we still have lots of other family and friends for her to meet and we are excited to introduce her to all. Feel free to give us a call if you would like to come visit at home in the next few weeks. We will probably wait a few weeks (at least through the holidays) before we take her out or too far away.

Genny, Steve, and Alexandra

And how's Day 3 going? Every day will be more wonderful and more confusing and more exhausting and, again, more fabulous than the next. :-) Take care, you guys! Once (if) the roads clear up, Uli and I would love to come meet Alexandra!!
