Disney Bound!

Finally, after a year of planning, and dreaming, and trying to keep the big secret, we were finally on our way!  We had to get up super super early to make our flight (two hour time difference to Florida did not work in our favor...) but the kids were troupers, got up easily and were fairly pleasant through the whole travel portion.

We spent time riding the escalator...

And we passed a little time playing with the hand dryers.

Nicholas did have his moments, as he did not like being held in the seat during take off, but once he got a little snooze...things went much more smoothly.

Our welcome to Orlando included a huge temperature change (it was -4 when we left Denver, 85 when we landed in Orlando!)

On the bus from the airport to the Magical World of Disney, we told Alex where we were going.  I don't know that she really understood, as she knew Mickey and the Princesses lived in Florida, but until we actually got into the park, I am not sure she understand just how magnificent this vacation was going to be..

she figured it out pretty much the minute we walked into the Magic Kingdom and she got the view of Cinderella's Castle.  That pretty much sealed the deal and the week was off to a magical start!
We got in just in time to see a special show at the front of the castle, which included the princesses!

We got her these sparkly ears about 2 min after we walked into the park :)

Then we explored a bit...checking out the Swiss Family Robinson House...just as boring as I remember!  And found the new Magic Carpets ride for Aladdin.  Our first ride of the week!  Careful, the camel spits :)

Tomorrow...our first character dinner with Mickey and friends!
