Today we joined our mom's group out at Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge for their "Tuesday Tots" program. This a free, educational program for kids ages 3-6. Each month they focus on a different theme and the kids learn about animals, insects, nature, etc. Today's theme was about spider webs. The instructor talked with the kids about the different kinds of webs, how they work, and shared a story about a spider building a web. Then they kids got to make their own spider webs.
There is also a nice display area where you can learn about the wildlife in the area, how the land has changed over the years, and basically is a mini hands on museum. We explored this area after our class, then headed outside for a walk and to see what wildlife we could see.
We had such a good time, that I signed us up for next weeks class! Not only was it fun, it will be a nice way to add a little more science to our curriculum!
