Today was the first (of what we hope is many) play dates for Alex. This was the year for babies at QTI (there were 9 babies born between 10/17/08 and 2/14/09!). Besides us, two of Genny's friends also had little girls - Uli was born to Thomasin and her husband Justin in October, and Isabella was born to Evelyn and Chad on 12/20. (Evelyn and Chad are the couple we did our birthing classes with and had joked about being in the hospital as the same time, as our due dates were only 4 days apart-it almost worked out...we just missed each other by about 5 hours)
Today Isabella and Uli came over to play with Alex :) Isabella is on the top left in pink, Alex in on the bottom left in blue, and Uli is on the right in the brown pants.
It was great fun for the girls to get together and for the moms to catch up both on QTI news, as well as just about being moms.
We are hopeful that these kind of get togethers can occur more often, even after all the moms have returned to work. We are all looking forward to the girls being friends :)
Alex continues to enjoy her shower, but is still not a fan of the bath. I think (or hope) that once she is able to really sit up on her own and splash around a bit in the water she will come to enjoy a bath more. We tried a bath on Sunday and it started out just fine, she was happy, smiling, and playful, but then when she tried to stretch out and Daddy had to hold, she got less enthusiastic about the experience. Here she is just out of her shower last night.
