Play time!

Each day brings more and more time for play :) We continue to work on tummy time, which Alex enjoys for short periods of time before she gets frustrated not seeing everything around her and fusses. She really enjoys being on her back, checking out the world, mommy/daddy's smiling face, toys that we show her, and kicking her feet. She is also now rolling more and more to her side.

The newest discovery is that of our hands. While her ability to her get her hand to her mouth is very hit or miss...she tries hard to get that hand there! She has yet to show a true preference for her right or left hand, going for which ever one is most convenient at that time.

Right now she has not shown to be a thumb or finger sucker, as it just her whole hand she tends to gum, but that may change once she stops tucking her thumb in her hand (she often makes a sign language "S"). Not sure how we feel about that...certainly more convenient to have her suck her thumb/finger as it is always with her and we don't have to worry about finding a Nuk, but then again, it can be harder to break that habit than a Nuk habit down the road. Only time will tell what she prefers. Hey, as long as we still get smiles and giggles each day, life is good!

We had a spell of nicer weather earlier this week, so Alex got her first walk outside that was longer than the run from the car to where ever we happen to be going. The first one she slept through...the second one, well, I don't think she recognizes how wonderful it is to be outside yet. But she did nap really well once we got home! We are back to winter now with snow coming tonight, but it should be a light snow fall, less than 2 inches. Boy, I can't wait for spring to really arrive!
