Last night was Alex's first swim lesson! This is a "parent/tot" program, so like with gymnastics, the teacher is there to offer guidance, direction with the weeks skill(s), and support, but really it is one on one time with the parent. This week is was blowing bubbles, which Alex lots of fun with, then she enjoyed just playing around in the pool with Daddy. Each class the teacher also tries to take each child off a little bit without the parent to get them used to working with another adult. This will help for when they graduate to the level 1 swim classes somewhere around the age of 3 which are more "traditional" lessons.
Most weeks it will be Daddy taking Alex to class, but for at least this first one, Mommy went too, to get some pictures!

Our biggest goals for this class are to increase her water confidence, get her to put her face in the water, and maybe stop trying to DRINK pool water. But as long as she is has fun, that is all that matters in the end.
