Denver Aquarium

Wow..I got do some catching up huh?!

A couple of weeks ago we decided to have a family adventure day.  Since we have lived here (3+ years now) we have not gone to the Denver Aquarium as a family.  The kids and Genny went this past summer with the Miller/Penrose clan and of course had a blast (but it is hard not to with this group!).  But we decided it would be a nice day to go as a family.  And make an adventure out of it.

I am amazed at how much Alex remembered from our trip there this summer.  But as we were sitting for lunch she wanted to check out the tank and find the sunken boat, and watch for the mermaids (luckily we timed it right and got to see them before lunch arrived!)

Nicholas and daddy waited at the table...not as interested in the mermaids.  Nicholas in fact was quite happy playing with the drink menu!

Then off to see the fishies!  I won't bore you with tons of pictures of fish, because hey, through the glass they all kind of look the same in a picture..blurry.

 But this was cool...as he was floating over our head!!

Then Alex got to MEET the mermaids and have her picture taken with them.  Heaven for our little girl :) (even if it doesn't come across in the pictures, she was THRILLED!)

It was a fun day...nice to sometimes take a break from  the routine, the laundry, and grocery shopping and just go on an adventure!
