Everyday she continues to grow, change, and amuse us! She has become, if you can believe it, even more vocal and able to express herself. It is fun to see her start to move from speaking in the 3rd person, to using 1st person sentences. She is also starting to really grasp possession and plurals. Now if she would only grasp the idea of delay in gratification...and that sometimes mommy and daddy do say "no".
Potty training has been a success! She is able to go by herself for the most part, but she does enjoy having mommy or daddy come with her to read stories. But we have pretty much been accident free for almost 2 weeks, though we are not yet "night trained". She is hit or miss about waking up dry.. we don't want to cause any undue stress, so she is still in a diaper at night. Though she will tell us when she needs to go, even if she is wearing a diaper. Now we must visit every bathroom of any restaurant, store, friend's house, etc that we visit, not that we always have to go mind you, but we must check out the facilities. Especially to see if they have an "Alex size potty" like they do at Monkey Bizness (one of fave places to go play). And we don't even need bribes anymore, though sometimes we do have to say "it is time to go" as she, like her daddy, has a bladder of steel.
Alex continues to love to have daddy build a tower...then she will knock it down. Ah, chaos...music to a 2 yr old's ears!
Alex has a bit of a head cold, so we were taking it easy today, so I broke out some beads and pipe cleaners as something new to do...Alex had an amazing time putting the beads on the pipe cleaners, taking them off, and looking at the different colors. This one activity kept her amused for almost 30 min today.
