Alex has been showing interest in using the potty for some time now, it helps that some of her friends are always either potty trained, or in the process. So, we decided this weekend to give it a go and give up diapers, at least during the day. After a bit of a rocky start, we are now fully in underwear during the day, including nap time. We are waiting to attempt night time until she is able to wake up dry consistently, which I think we are close on. So, after a few days, she is now a pro! She is so proud of herself when she keeps her panties dry. And like everything else with our darling little girl, she wants to do it by herself. And she loves the chocolate peanut butter cup she gets after going...as a training incentive, though she is starting to not need that each time. So we can now count one more way she is growing up and turning into a little girl, one who still warms my heart each day, but who no longer is a baby in any way.
She is such fun to watch play...yesterday she decided to engage Bamboo in her play. She thought Boo needed to be fancy, like her, so she brought her a necklace, a boa, a purse, and even sunglasses. Boo was very content to play along, until Alex brought the slippers over, that was her limit! Late when we turned on some music (or "tunes" as she calls them) she thought Boo needed to be dressed up like her (Alex was wearing a tutu and wings) so she gave Boo another necklace.
Other cute little tidbits...Steve persuaded me to get a new fish tank, though smaller than the one we had in WI...and one of Alex's favorite "jobs" each night is to help daddy feed the fish.
