The Garden of the Gods

Today we decided to take some time explore our new home state. Steve's co-workers have been awesome with ideas and suggestions of things to check out. With the beautiful weather (we hit 60 degrees today, yes 60! in January), we wanted to get outside and enjoy it. We decided to drive to Colorado Springs and take in the Garden of the Gods. We had lunch at the cafe with the amazing mountain view, the headed down to talk a walk. There is a wide variety of trails at varying levels of difficulty. They have one path that is nicely paved for wheelchairs, strollers, and young walkers. The trails were busy, full of families, couples, dogs, and even some rock climbers! We took our time, enjoying the weather, the scenery, and just being together. it was an amazing day!

Alex took a nap on the way there...resting up for the big adventure!

The scene from the parking lot at the Visitor Center
Our view from the cafe where we had lunch

Come on daddy! Catch up!

Alex loves to pick up rocks...maybe we have another geologist in the family?
Our a mountain climber...as we could not keep her off the rocks :)

We stopped to watch a few climbers...one of about 4 groups we saw today.

Who would tire of view like this?
Oh daddy, again with the pictures?

What a great spot for a picture....
sure, but I would rather climb and check this big rock out!

I love the mountains!!!
