Wow, it has been a long time since we last updated.....time is moving along so fast!
We are officially in the 3rd trimester and Trogdor is moving around a lot. It is a wonderful, yet slightly odd feeling. And nothing really prepares you for watching your stomach ripple as she moves around! The first time was a bit freaky, for both Steve and I. But it is a good feeling to know she is moving around and very active. This week they will test for gestastional diabetes, but since we have been testing Genny's blood with one of Steve's glucose testers, we are not too worried about the results, as her blood sugar has been normal (and actually makes Steve a bit jealous!)
Steve had a training in Chicago earlier this month where he learned more about protecting computer systems from hackers, new hacker trends, and all that good stuff. If anyone is really interested in more details, I am sure he would be happy to discuss in further details, but it does get very technical. Basically, if someone wants your data, they will find a way to get it, the trick is to make it challenging enough for them to try and get so that they move on to someone else's data before the succeed. That, and teaching your staff how to protect their data as well and not leave on opening for a hacker.
Genny's mom was here for a week to meet her newest grandchild, Evie. It was a wonderful visita and very hard for her to leave (and for all of us to have her leave). We had lots of fun hanging out, playing pass the baby, and teaching Laura and Joe how to play "10 Days in Africa"- a favorite game of Genny's mom.
Evie continues to grow each day, she is now 10lbs and 21 inches long. Each time we see here she has changed and grown. She is so much fun and does VERY well when we all go out for dinner anywhere. She sleeps or just watches around her and of course, is oohed and ahhed over by all! Hard not to, she really is a sweetie, though we may be a bit biased :) I will try to get some new pictures up soon, for those who are interested.
Steve finally convinced Genny it was time to buy a video camera, so yesterday was spent running errands and looking a video cameras. We did find a good deal at Best Buy on a Sony that had all the main features we both wanted. We promise there will be no video (or still photos) of delivery-we will wait until all have been cleaned up and feel ready for the rest of the world!
We continue to get the house ready for Trogdor's arrival-sorting, reaarragning to make more space, and getting rid of things we have not used or worn in a long time. It is a long process, but in the end it feels nice to look around and see what we have accomplished.
The weather is starting to cool off, so we know fall is on the way. If we can hold out on getting any snow until after Trogdor arrives, that would be ideal. Someone told me a very nasty little rumor that we may get MORE snow than last year. I am not sure how that is even possible! It started snowing 12/1 and kept snowing until March. If that happens again, my vague threat about moving to New Zealand or Australia may not be that vague anymore!
