Our Trip To Madison

This past week, we made the trip to WI to celebrate the life of Steve's mom, Polly Colby. There were some difficult parts to the weekend, such as seeing her very empty condo.  As well as the memorial service and ash scattering events themselves.  But we were also able to find some time to enjoy our favorite things about home.  Since this was more of a somber time, we did not get many pictures of family (somehow seemed a little inappropriate).  But we did get some shots of Alex and Nicholas with their family.

Alex most enjoyed spending time with her cousin, Evie.  After about 5 minutes of quietly assessing one another, they were off and running...literally!

Everyone else zonked out...mommy got a few minutes of quiet time

See, even though he is not native to WI, he is green and gold!

I got these the last morning we were in Madison...right before we had to wake them up to get ready to leave for the airport.  I love how she is snuggling with Nicholas..though it could be viewed as a choke hold :)  But it was done in her sleep, so I don't THINK any malice was intended.
