Let the Birthday/Holiday Extravaganza Begin!

It has been a crazy filled couple of weeks. Alex and I have been busy busy busy with playdates and meet up with our Mom's playgroup. Things finally settled down with a long holiday weekend for Thanksgiving. We had a nice quiet holiday just the three of us, with more food than we could eat. Then we tackled taking down the fall decorations and putting up our winter/Christmas decorations. This also included some rearranging of play areas, sorting out of toys, and putting toys away that Alex is out growing, to help make room for birthday and Christmas presents.

Alex received a couple of birthday presents early this year, which we decided to set up these new items early so that she could really enjoy them.

Grandma Polly is helping to foster Alex's interest in art with a brand new easel!

The easel flips down and becomes an art tray, perfect for playdough play

Alex also has a real interest in trains...so we decided to take some of her birthday money and get her a train table...much easier to keep the tracks in place than on the carpeting, and we can put the table under the lights...and hopefully avoid hitting our heads each time we stand up!

And while we don't have any snow yet (kind of bummed...really!) but it has been cold and windy. Steve got some wonderful pictures of our backyard fountain, frozen.
