We made it safely to and from WI for our first trip back since the big move. Part of this trip was to see friends and family, and part of the trip was to arrange to bring the rest of our stuff from WI to CO. While we did not get to do as much as we had hoped to do (visit the Union, walk out to Picnic Point, spend as much time with friends as we had hoped) Alex and I will try to hit a few more of these "to do's" when we go back in September with Grandma Joan.
Alex did pretty well in the car, since we drove straight through the night. Though on the way out there she woke up at 3:30 am and didn't go back to sleep until 5:30 am. But we arrived safely and mostly sane! She quickly warmed up to Grandma Polly who had books ready and waiting for her. Here they are reading one of daddy's favorites as a kid, The Pokey Little Puppy. And showing Grandma Polly her little puppy.
Look at her mug for the camera!
And a self portrait
Grandma Polly got Alex a new doll, which she just loves!
Checking out the new dolly (who is called "baby")
Giving her the bottle
And this is at our house in CO after we got back, we picked up a little doll stroller and she LOVES to give baby a ride! (excuse the wild hair, it was right after nap time!)
She also loves bubbles!
Then when we got back to CO, Grandpa Bill came for a few days on his way back to WI from CA. Alex loved spending time with "Pop Pop" as that is what she started calling him this weekend. We took a few walks, went to the park, tried out a few new restaurants, and Bill helped with a few projects around the house. And, he and Alex played basketball, a fave outside activity for the monkey!
