Growing, Growing, Growing

Yesterday was Alex's 9 (well almost 10) month check up. She now weighs in at 20 lbs 8 oz, and is 28 inches tall. She is finding her grove on the growth chart at about 53% for weight and 63% for height. It is likely she will stay in this range going forward now. The nurses and doctors were all VERY impressed with our little early walker. After a brief period to warm up to the clinic (both figuratively and literally...as she gets weighed sans clothing) she was happy to show off!

We all got our seasonal flu shot, though Alex will need one more dose this being her first flu vaccine. We talked a lot with our doctor about the H1N1 vaccine. There is just so much confusing and conflicting information out there. Right now WI (or at least the clinics) have not received the vaccine, nor do they have time table as to when it is coming in. The clinics are also not getting a great deal of info yet on the vaccine...but our doctor feels that it is worth getting, since it adds one more layer of protection to the flu. Steve is sort of required by work to get one (they can't make him get it, but all staff are being HIGHLY encouraged to get it) and since he is in one of those "risk" groups and with Alex being under 2, we are all in the first wave of those up for the vaccine. I can't wait for after her 1 year appt....then we don't have any shots for 6 months. She did awesome with the shot yesterday. She cried for about 5 minutes after the shot.
Then we went to look at Halloween costumes. We ended up with a pink kitty cat, as we decided to go with something cute and WARM. Form and function is the name of the game with costumes in WI. Who knows what kind of weather we can have at the end of October...it could be snowing, raining, or just cool. We then went to Culver's for dinner so little girl could enjoy a treat of french fries :)

This weekend we are having friends over for a play date. It should be a nice time for Alex to play with other little ones and for mommy to catch up with some friends as well.

These are just some random pictures we got of her this week:

The favorite place to climb.

If you look close, you can see her two little teeth!

So proud of herself!

And the things we do to get a giggle...not sure why this was so hilarious (I was taking one of the balls from a ball run and trying to "pop" it up in the air) but she just thought this was a riot! I love to hear her laugh, it really is the best sound in the world.
