This is the first entry to chronicle the journey awaiting the arrival of our first child. We have given the child the codename, Trogdor, the Babinator, as seen in HomeStar Runner, a popular web cartoon (www.homestarrunner.com). Click on the following link to see the episode called "Dragon".
In less than 8 weeks, our sister, Laura and her husband Joe expect the birth of their daughter, Evelyn (Evie) Ruth. It is exciting to think that our children will be 3 months apart in age.
This is week 17, putting our due date somewhere in the early part of December.
We have started to look at name books, and have determined we will find out the gender of "Trogdor". However, any names we will decide on will not be revealed until "Trogdor" arrives.
We have cleaned our spare bedroom and have begun to decorate in the theme of Winnie the Pooh. To date, we have not purchased any furniture, but intend to stack a crib, a dresser/changing table, and a comfy chair somewhere in the room.
Our family room has also begun to transform into a child-friendly play area. The theme of this room is dragons. We have begun to search far and wide for dragons that do not look too scary. We have found Books, stuffed animals, rugs, and other items that fit our criteria. We intend that though dragons are the theme, castles, princesses and knights will soon enter the world of fantasy play, once Trogdor becomes cognizant of play and activities.
More to come soon!
