Our first 14-ner!

Today we took Grandpa to visit Mount Evans.  This was our first 14-ner climb as a family!  Now, in all honestly, you drive up to pretty much the top of the mountain, then you hike up the last 1/4 of a mile.  But, I am claiming it as our first 14-ner!

I am so glad we knew to be prepared for colder weather at the top...it was darn right chilly at a whopping 37 degrees..with a wind chill into the 20's!  But wow, what a view!  And Alex had such a good time climbing the rocks.  If I had let her, she would have forgone the "path" and just climbed the rocks to the top!
